About AFRC

Amazing Feet RC is a friendly club with run locations around Kidderminster, Stourport, Bewdley and surrounding areas.

We welcome adult runners of all ages and abilities, having done so since the club was founded in the early 1980s.

Since it started the emphasis has been on running improvement, enjoyment and competition, all of this from a group of brilliant volunteers!

The club has a committee and a coaching team who are introduced on this page but it would be nothing without the club members.

We have a great group of runners that regularly volunteer their time for the benefit of the club, leading and organising runs and social events.

There are also superb volunteers that organise our teams for the winter cross country series.

Paul Bowley

Chairperson

Hi I’m Paul, I joined Amazing Feet nearly 5 years ago. I was struggling to do a 5k Park Run, a friend from Park Run suggested I join Amazing Feet. I have truly never looked back.

I have gone from doing a 5k to running 5 marathons and 1 ultra. Getting a sub 4 hours for my last marathon. This was mainly due to the interval training, support, and encouragement given by the club.

I often lead a 10k on a Friday and a long run on a Sunday morning for various local places, I enjoy planning a route and seeing if it works.

I am on the club’s committee doing the role of Chairperson, as i felt I wanted to give something back to the club.

Amazing Feet are a friendly, inclusive group of people I am honoured to call my friends, my running family.

Sally Dunn

Club Secretary

Hello, I’m Sally, and I’ve had the immense privilege of serving as the Amazing Feet RC Club Secretary for nearly five years.

If you’re not sure about joining a running club I hope my story can help you take the ‘leap’- it was honestly one of the best decisions I ever made!

For years, I resisted joining a club. I had that classic thought: “I’m not fast enough, I’ll never keep up with the ‘real’ runners! Sound familiar? I soon realised how wrong I was. Amazing Feet RC is a super friendly, welcoming and truly inclusive club. We cater for runners of all abilities, the sense of camaraderie and support here is incredible.

Running is more than just a physical activity; it’s a powerful tool for overall wellbeing. It is genuinely positive and good for you, making a huge difference to both your physical and mental health. Joining Amazing Feet amplified these benefits for me. It’s not just the running; it’s the supportive environment, the shared challenges and the incredible social side.

Seriously, some of my very best friends are people I met through the club. Being part of a running community has made a positive difference to my life!

Since joining, my own running journey has taken some amazing turns! I’ve successfully completed several half marathons, taken on the iconic Paris Marathon and challenged myself with an ultra marathon in the beautiful Lake District.

My true passion lies in trail running- I absolutely love escaping to the countryside and exploring off-road… and, of course, the mud!! My aim is now to take on more ultras.

When I’m not lacing up my trail shoes, my other active and outdoor leisure pursuits include yoga, Pilates, open water swimming and walking.

If you’re looking for motivation, friendship or just a great way to improve your running and stay active, I wholeheartedly recommend Amazing Feet RC!

Lara Johnson

Membership Secretary

Hi I’m Lara, I’ve been running for 10 years and joined Amazing Feet shortly after taking myself through the couch to 5k program.

I took over as membership secretary in 2019 and enjoy supporting new members as they join our community.

I love road running, I’m not one for many races, I run for the enjoyment of it. If I’m not on the pavements, I can usually be found in the gym!

Nicki Lancaster

Run Leader (LiRF) & Club Treasurer

I started running in late 2018, and soon after foolishly agreed (no wine involved at all) to do the Great North Run in 2019 with a friend, although at the time, I could hardly run a 5k. It was then I thought “I should join a running club!”

Although very nervous to begin, what a great decision it was! I have made fantastic lifelong friends, filled the son shaped hole in my life after he left for university, and improved my fitness and knowledge, with which as a run leader, I enjoy supporting and sharing with other athletes.

Amazing Feet RC has become a huge part of my life, the members are truly like a family, which has also supported my mental well-being.

Sean Wilson

Run Leader (LiRF) & Committee Member

I’ve been a member of the club committee for a few years and I’ve enjoyed being part of ‘oiling the cogs’ and keeping the club moving forward.

I trained as a run leader (LiRF) in 2017 and I really enjoy organising routes for the club runs and welcoming newcomers to the running world.

I’ve been a member of AFRC for many years and managed to get the Club`s London Marathon ballot place in 2017, that was a life changing experience so do it if you can.

I’ve had an interest in outdoor activities for as long as I can remember, with a long list of sports but running has always been a constant for me!

I`ve found that the club and it`s members have helped me through my sporting challenges and the ‘ups and downs’ of training, but most important is that I’ve got a great bunch of friends here. I couldn’t ask for more!

Rob Reynolds

Coach (CiRF) & Run Leader (LiRF)

Hi, my name is Rob Reynolds, I took up triathlon after many years of not being very sporty (even at school).

When I completed my first competition something changed for me and I became addicted.

I then went on to compete for GB at 6 European competitions and one world championship.

As I progressed I also took up coaching as I enjoyed helping others to achieve their goals.

I am an Arthur Lydiard level one and two running coach; a level one British triathlon federation coach; a leader in running fitness (lirf) with UK Athletics; a coach in running fitness (cirf) with UK Athletics; and a swimming coach level one.

I’ve spent the last six years at my current club helping to promote running and a positive attitude towards it.

Brian Marshall

Coach (CiRF) & Run Leader (LiRF)

With over 45 years of involvement in athletics, I bring a lifetime of passion, knowledge, and experience to every training session.

As an England Athletics Level 2 Endurance Coach, I have spent many years guiding runners across a wide range of distances – from 5Ks to ultra-marathons – helping athletes of all abilities achieve meaningful progress and confident, enjoyable running.

My coaching philosophy is built on developing strong fundamentals, understanding each runner as an individual, and creating supportive, structured training that leads to long-term success.

Whether you’re training for your first race or aiming for a personal best, I’m committed to helping you reach your goals and discover just how far you can go.

Anthony Edwards

Run Leader (LiRF)

Hi, I`m Anthony and I come from a sporty background, mainly football but after stopping I felt I still needed something so I started running which led me to triathlons.

It was my wife that suggested I join Amazing Feet as she was already a member and it was the best thing I ever did. The club has helped me chase and fulfil many challenges from 5ks to ultras.

My main passion is trail running so if you don’t see me on a club run I’m probably checking routes in the forest for future club outings!

I took my Run Leader (LIRF) course, which was fully supported by the club and I find this really rewarding by helping other runners to improve and progress.

Whilst being part of the club I can honestly say that I have made some great friendships and I`m very proud to wear the club colours when racing.

Louise Weber

Run Leader (LiRF)

I’m Louise Weber, one of the run leaders. I have been a member of Amazing Feet forever but trained as a run leader a couple of years ago. Having talked loudly for many years about how I just liked to run and wouldn’t enjoy interval training, I found myself having to eat my words!

When the club started up an interval session and I went along I was hooked, so much so that when offered the chance to do my LIRF training I said, “Yes!” Now I can also enjoy seeing people really get into the session and see the progress they make. I love to see the commitment of people coming along, even in the bad weather because “if it’s raining, we’re still training!”

I love being part of Amazing Feet as it gives me the opportunity to run with some great people, enjoy a sociable run and explore new running routes and trails. I’m not the quickest runner in the world, or the fittest, or the most competitive but there is a place in Amazing Feet that is “Louise-shaped” as the club is very welcoming and supportive.

This was made very clear to me recently as the club helped me achieve my 50th birthday goal of completing a marathon. They are equally as accepting of my decision that I will never run a marathon again and will no doubt help me towards the next running goal I decide on – ultra anyone?
