The AFRC Wyre Forest Trail Race

The trail race is our annual event to raise awareness of the club and takes place in the beautiful Wyre Forest near Bewdley.

It’s a UK Athletics affiliated event with distances of approx. 10km and 13 miles and has been part of our club for decades.

Our club member marshal this event and they’re well known for being very supportive and encouraging, and that’s really needed on some of the hills! More details of the event and entry details can be found by clicking here.

 

Midland Winter Cross Country Race Series

This brilliant series of four XC runs takes place between November and February with the races every 4 weeks or so.

There can be 1,500 competitors if the men’s and women’s venues are the same and that creates a great atmosphere.

The comradery at these events is amazing, you get to meet other clubs and also form very strong bonds with your fellow club members.

 

The AFRC Club Championship

This series is aimed at getting the club members to compete and progress their level of running whilst still having a fun time with your fellow club runners.

It’s a series of 12 events from Spring to Autumn, but don’t worry you haven’t got to do them all!

  1. All fully paid-up members of the club are eligible for the club championship. Any new members joining part way through the year are eligible from the date they join.
  2. You must enter all races as an Amazing Feet Runner, including Parkrun, and run in Amazing Feet colours/kit except where:
    1. You are running for a registered charity and wearing clothes supplied by them.
    2. You are wearing a county or national vest.
  3. There will be two championship tables: male and female, all age inclusive.
  4. Scoring will be awarded on an age-graded system with the 1st club finisher, after age grading is applied, scoring 10 points, 2nd 9 points, 3rd 8 points, 4th 7 points, 5th 6 points and all other finishers a minimum of 5 points.
  5. For the benefit of age grading, age will be calculated on the date of the first championship race of the year.
  6. You can take part in as many or as few of the races as you like, but only your highest 6 scores will count, with a maximum of 4 from Parkruns.
  7. 5 BONUS points will be awarded to all club members who volunteer at the AFRC Trail Race.
  8. Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female at the Club Christmas celebration.
  9. Where the final score for a prize is tied, award will be based on most head-to-head victories. If it remains a tie, award is shared.
  10. The championship table will be updated and published within 7 days of the official race results being made available.
  11. Any challenge to scoring/results should be made within 7 days to the Championship co-ordinator.
  12. The Championship co-ordinator/Committee’s decision is final.
